Fairbanks Screening a great Success!
Touching the Game, Alaska premiered in Fairbanks on Friday night at Pioneer Park!
Despite inclement weather, the turnout was superb and the film was incredibly well received. It was great to see it on a big screen and it looks beautiful! This showing was the first of several we have planned in conjunction with the teams.
Anchorage is the next target, and if we can work it out, we’re shooting for the last week/weekend in July, 1st of August. This would co-incide with the league’s Showcase weekend and would be a perfect time for screenings.
On a sad note, Henry “Red” Boucher, the founder of the Goldpanners (and eventually the league itself), died on Friday afternoon after a long fight against a variety of ailments. Red was a truly a pioneer in the legendary sense, and affected more lives than anyone will ever know. He was 88, and he will be greatly missed.
Links to a varitey of articles on both the film premiere and Red can be found on our Facebook and Twitter Pages or take a look at the Fairbanks News-Miner or the Alaska Daily news
