We’re Back in Alaska!

Greetings from Alaska. We arrived on 6/27 for 10 days of more filming of the Alaska Baseball League. We have started out our trip in Palmer, home of the Mat-Su Miners. We were rained out here a year ago, but were not dissapointed this time around. Hermann Brothers Fields is probably the most picturesque field in Alaska with mountains surrounding it. Our goals for this summer are to followup on some of the human interest threads we began a year ago, and discover some new ones, and of course baseball, baseball, baseball!! We plan on continuing on to Fairbanks, and end in Anchorage.

Don’t forget to check out our trailer, and continue to check back as we will be posting throughout our trip

Welcome to our new Touching The Game web site. With the success of our first film “Touching The Game, The Story of The Cape Cod Baseball League”, we have decided to try and produce a series of films about the world’s best amateur baseball. We are currently in production on our new film about baseball in Alaska. Stay tuned for updates in the coming months on how the film is progressing, and new video clips as well.

We also now have an expanded section on our award-winning documentary on the Cape Cod Baseball League, and will regularly provide updates on the film and the players that were featured, as well as news about and links to the league and its ever-expanding universe.

We hope you enjoy the new web site, and feel free to contact us with comments, ideas, or suggestions!

Alaska Film Update

After our very productive trip to the Frontier State last summer, we have compiled all our terrific HD footage and produced a short working trailer for the film, which is due out in 2008. We have also produced a video on the Midnight Sun Game, an Alaskan event that has gained world wide recognition.

Although we still have a very tight budget, our current plans are to return to Alaska for a week this summer to finish up shooting the main body of the film, then start to interview past and current MLB players who have played in the Alaska Baseball League.

We want to thank everyone who has helped us so far, including so many of you last summer, and we look forward to seeing you again soon. We believe we are capturing something special with this film.

Cape Cod Film Update

It’s been 3 years since we released Touching The Game, The Story of the Cape Cod Baseball League, and we are still receiving compliments on our work. The documentary has won a couple film festival awards and tremendous critical acclaim, and the DVD is still selling consistently on the web site, at the ballparks on the Cape and through selected retailers.

If you are here deciding on whether to purchase the film, take a look at our video clips section for the trailer and a couple other clips from the film.

CCBL fans love to follow the progress of past players as they make their way to the Major Leagues. We now have two pages of the site dedicated to the players in our film (MLB Players and Cape Players), and actually had our first featured player from the summer of 2003 make it to the Majors (Wareham’s Andy Laroche was called up by the Dodgers in May).

We will continue to have updates on the players and the success of the film in coming months.
